I AM a Beginner Bull—What Does That Even Mean?
WELCOME to "Beginner Bull," your new go-to guide for laughing at my mistakes, which may assist you in navigating the wild and wonderful world of the stock market!
As the character Manuel says in Fawlty Towers, “I know
nothing.” Well, as of today, 27 June 2024, I truly know NOTHING about stocks,
markets, or investing.
As a middle-aged individual venturing into this new terrain, (yes, agreed, only middle-aged people will know who Manuel from Fawlty Towers is), I
might be thinking, “Am I really ready to become a bull?” I guess everyone
starts as a beginner.
What’s a bull anyway in trading terms? For fellow beginners, in the world of finance, a "bull" refers to someone who is optimistic about the market's future. That’s us—charging into the stock market with a blend of courage, optimism, and a pinch of naïveté.
But for every bull, there’s a bear lurking around the
corner. A "bear" is someone who is pessimistic about the market's
future, envisioning a downward trend. Imagine a bear hibernating for the
winter, hunkering down and being cautious. While bulls charge, bears take a
nap.
Follow me and my blog, we’ll learn a trick or two to stash
up our sleeves.
